A branch of medical science dealing with anesthesia and anesthetics.
Anesthesia: Lack of feeling or sensation with or without loss of consciousness. Artificially induced loss of ability to feel pain, done to permit the performance of surgery or other painful procedures, anesthesia may be produced by a number of agents capable of bringing about partial or complete loss of sensation.
