We offer free interlibrary loan services to affiliated healthcare providers.
Services are available to other patrons for a fee through the National Library of Medicine's Loansome Doc service. Users must register with a medical library to use this service. For information on registering with us, go to: www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/factsheets/loansome_doc.html.
Reference
We can provide directory information, healthcare statistics, and easy to understand information on a variety of health care and wellness topics in English and in other languages.
Internet Searches
A computer workstation with Internet access is available at the Gale Medical Library. We also offer Internet access at our assistive technology computer.
For free access to MEDLINE PubMed — the National Library of Medicine's premier database, covering 4,500 worldwide journals in 30 languages back to 1966 (or before) — go to: http://PubMed.gov.
For free access to EBSCO Health Source Plus, a consumer health database providing full text of over 200 journals and more than 1000 brochures, ask the librarian.
If you would like us to conduct an Internet search for you, please contact Gale Medical Library at (603) 444-9564.
Training
We provide instruction in use of PubMed, EBSCO Health Source Plus, and the Internet. Group instruction is scheduled periodically, on request. One-on-one instruction is always available by appointment.
