The goal of hospital infection control is to reduce or eliminate the spread of infectious diseases. At Littleton Regional Hospital, our health care providers and hospital staff members receive education and training about infection control policies, procedures, and guidelines that focus on promoting disease control. Hand washing, although a simple concept, remains one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of infection. In a health care facility, hand washing is not a social gesture; it is a procedure that interrupts transmission of harmful bacteria and viruses that even healthy people carry on their hands. We welcome the community’s assistance in reminding all health care providers to wash their hands!
