Dr. Mukerjee Receives Board Certification in Cardiovascular Computed Tomography

Cardiologist, Anil Mukerjee, MD, FACC, FACP, FASE, FASNC recently received Board Certification by the Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CBCCT). CBCCT is a non-for-profit corporation established in 2007 to develop and administer a practice-based examination for physicians to document their skills and knowledge in the field of cardiovascular computed tomography. This certification allows Dr. Mukerjee to designate himself as "Diplomat of the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computer Topography."
The mission of the CBCCT is, "to promote and enhance patient care by defining the domain of cardiovascular computer tomography and identifying the requisite knowledge and skills for quality practice through a certification program that fosters excellence and encourages continual learning."
The third year of the certification board exam was offered in September 2010 and to date 1,506 physicians have been certified in cardiovascular computed tomography.
Dr. Mukerjee became an active member of the medical staff at Littleton Regional Hospital in 1996 after completing his cardiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital - Harvard Medical School in Boston.
He is board certified in Internal medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography and Nuclear cardiology. Dr. Mukerjee completed cardiac CT training at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland and is trained in cardiac PET from Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Mukerjee is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiolgy, American Society of Echocardiography, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and American College of Physicians.
He played a key role in overseeing the process of LRH achieving Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography, certification for the echocardiography laboratory at LRH.
