Dr. Mukerjee Achieves Board Certification in Nuclear Cardiology

The Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC), a non-for-profit corporation established to develop and administer practice-related examinations in the field of Nuclear Cardiology, is pleased to announce that Anil K. Mukerjee, MD of Littleton, NH passed the certificate examination in December 2009.
Dr. Mukerjee became an active member of the medical staff at Littleton Regional Hospital in 1996 after completing his cardiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital - Harvard Medical School in Boston. He is also board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and echocardiography. Dr. Mukerjee completed cardiac CT training at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland and is trained in cardiac PET from Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Mukerjee is a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography and played a key role in overseeing the process of LRH achieving Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography, certification for the echocardiography laboratory at LRH.
The purpose of the CBNC Certification Program is to establish the domain of the practice of Nuclear Cardiology for certification; to assess the level of knowledge demonstrated by Nuclear Cardiology specialist in a valid manner; to encourage professional growth in, and enhance the quality of the practice of Nuclear Cardiology; to recognize formally individuals who meet the requirements set by CBNC and to serve the public by encouraging quality patient care in the practice of Nuclear Cardiology.
The Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, a not-for-profit corporation established in 1996, is a fully autonomous entity, independent of any other association, society or academy. This independence allows the CBNC to maintain integrity concerning policy matters related to certification. Since 2003, CBNC has collaborated with the European Council of Nuclear Cardiology (ECNC) to offer the examination in a European venue. ECNC has representation on the CBNC's Examination Committee.
