2007 Annual Appeal – Littleton Regional Hospital Charitable Foundation Century Fund
Littleton Regional Hospital celebrates its Centennial on June 27, 2007. We are fortunate to have enjoyed a long tradition of extraordinary community support. Since the Hospital’s founding in 1907, the community has generously volunteered its time, talent and financial resources to the Hospital.
As far back as 1906 during the initial organization and planning for a new hospital in Littleton, NH, our founders J.J. Glessner and Dr. William Beattie initiated the fundraising toward the construction of the new building. Dr. Beattie pledged $10,000 and annual dues were set at $10, or one could become a life member for $100. Throughout the construction and afterward, the Littleton Courier reported not only on day-to-day progress of construction, but on the on going fund raising and philanthropy that was on going. In 1907 and 1908 special fund raising events included fairs, vaudeville shows, musical recitals and a large annual benefit at the Maplewood Hotel that included an “automobile stop” where guests compelled motorists to buy raffle tickets.
The Littleton Regional Hospital Charitable Foundation Board invites you to continue this tradition of fundraising to support the Hospital through a gift to the LRH Century Fund. The Century Fund allows you to specifically designate your support to those programs and services you feel reflect the needs of our community today and your vision of our next century of caring.
Your support in the Hospital’s Centennial celebration will become a permanent part of the Hospital’s history. All donors to the LRH Century Fund will be prominently displayed in the Hospital’s atrium and will be a part of the Hospital’s future.
