Dr. Parker Towle Poetry Reading
Dr. Parker Towle, neurologist at Littleton Regional Hospital will launch his first full-length collection of poems, This Weather Is No Womb, (Antrim House Books) at a public reading in the H. Taylor Caswell, Jr. Physician’s Office Building at Littleton Regional Hospital in the cafeteria on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 6:30 p.m.

Parker Towle has published 180 poems in magazines, three chapbooks, an anthology of other poets called Exquisite Reaction, and special sections of The Worcester Review on the late poets, Frank O’Hara and Stanley Kunitz, of which he is an associate editor of this review.

The cover of “This Weather Is No Womb” is from oil on canvas painting by Paula Wolcott. This painting of the wilderness outside Telluride, Colorado reminds the Towle of the Bog Pond, Gordon Pond wilderness as viewed from Kinsman Ridge toward Lincoln and North Woodstock in New Hampshire. Though the book is primarily about people and chooses its landscapes as widely as Central America and the Caribbean, it is located especially in his beloved mountains of northern New England.

The Village Book Store and Littleton Regional Hospital are assisting with details for this event. Light refreshments will be served. Questions should be directed to (603) 444-9066.
