Preventing Sports Injuries in Children

Littleton, NH - Dr. Andrew Chen will present the fifth program in the annual Bridge to Positive Parenting series on Thursday evening, May 5, 2005 in the J. Caswell Jr. Conference Center on Littleton Regional Hospital’s ground floor from 7 to 9 PM. He will discuss the prevention of sports injuries in children and will give tips on helping your child choose the right sport and sports equipment.

Dr. Chen is an orthopedic surgeon at Littleton Regional Hospital with a specialty in Sports Medicine. He earned his medical degree at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City. During that time he received several awards for his research and was honored with resident teacher of the year. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine and upper extremity surgery at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. He has been involved with the medical care of the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Madison Square Garden, the New York Mets, the Colorado Rockies, the Denver Broncos, and the United States Ski Team.

Parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, and childcare providers would benefit from this program. Proof of attendance is given if requested, and light refreshments and door prizes will be provided. The program is free and open to the public. Registration is recommended.
