Littleton Regional Hospital Hosts “Brake for Moose” Conference
Littleton Regional Hospital will host a “Brake for Moose” informational conference on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. in the H. Taylor Caswell, Jr. Physician’s Office Building - in Conference Rooms 1, 2 & 3.
Dr. Campbell McLaren, an Emergency Department physician has seen firsthand the outcome of vehicles colliding with moose in our Northern New Hampshire community. McLaren states, “According to New Hampshire Fish and Game authorities, more than 200 moose are struck by vehicles each year.” While these collisions cannot be eliminated, there are preventive measures that drivers can be aware of to lessen the likelihood of hitting a moose.
Anyone who drives is encouraged to attend to learn strategies to avoid a moose collision. McLaren will share his perspectives to help participants learn ways to be prepared and to see and react quickly to moose on or near the roadside.
This conference is a service to northern New Hampshire provided by Littleton Regional Hospital. There is no charge for this workshop and refreshments will be served. For workshop details and to register, please contact the Development and Community Relations office at Littleton Regional Hospital at (603) 444-9304.
