Paramedic Intercept Program
LRH Paramedics provide 24 hour per day 7 days per week 365 days per year coverage to 11 surrounding communities. The paramedics respond by request of area inbound ambulances that will require advanced level care for their patients. They will intercept with the ambulance and continue to the hospital providing the highest level of pre-hospital care. When not intercepting with the ambulances the paramedics provide support to the Emergency Department, as well as the ICU, OB, and the Med/Surg unit, working side by side with the nurses and physicians. In addition to being critical care providers; the paramedics assist with the coordination of educational programs for the area pre-hospital providers, and public education and prevention programs.
